Aquasports has been running for over 55 years. Started in 1966 by Bill Cross, Peter Hunt and Geoff Turnell as a Boy Covenanter camp, the aim has always been to introduce young people to Jesus and to enable them to further develop their relationship with Him. The holiday has adapted and moved into the twenty first century now offering teenagers from all walks of life the experience of an exciting water sports holiday and to encounter the living God. Whoever you are, wherever you have been, whatever you believe, you can be sure of a warm welcome at Aquasports.

The team and trustees of Aquasports have a longing to see young people passionate about Christ, equipped to follow him with their whole lives rooted in his love.

The Aquasports teaching programme is non-denominational Bible based teaching, including small group discussions which are specifically designed to engage with teenagers and young adults irrespective of social and academic background. The workshops, talks, seminars, small groups discussions and activities are designed to help show the young people that being a Christian is fun and about much more than just going to church on a Sunday and that there are other people out there, their own age, going through similar walks of life to them.

What to expect on camp?

Aquasports is a family camp. The team, who are all volunteers, DBS and reference checked, pay to come, some with their families, to run the holiday for the young people. Everyone on the camp is part of the Aquasports family.

All sports are run by qualified instructors and the camp is staffed by trained nurses, cooks, youth workers and other support volunteers. The camp is currently led by Andrea and Greg Ainsworth and operates under HSE, AALA and other bodies.
